ABOUT ILTC
The International Lace Trade Centre (ILTC), developed by the Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts, supported by Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles, Govt. of India is expected to provide the much-needed push to the lace exports. The lace industry, which has been flourishing in East and West Godavari districts with Narsapur as a hub for the last 200 years, is facing hardship due to dwindling export orders for a variety of reasons.
Skill Training
The Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts organized the Soft Skill Training program for 120 Imitation Jewellery artisans in Machilipatnam and. Training venue was in Pedana.
In this training Microsoft PowerPoint Presentations and flips-charts were used to support deliberation and discussion.
Marketing
In the past few years, the cluster has been experiencing slow growth due to recession in USA and Europe. The poor market situation has further aggravated due to the lack of presence in the domestic market and poor awareness among buyer both in the domestic market and new emerging global markets.

Over the years there has been a growing tendency to ensure evidence based planning and implementation of development programs across the country. The data base developed through different household level surveys have made significant contributions in planning as well as monitoring of ongoing programmes in the country.
